PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
 
THE BAHA'I NATIONAL CENTER, Evanston, IL 1998 – 2007
Director of Information Technology Department (Chief
 Technology Officer), U.S. administrative headquarters for Baha'i Faith; oversee technical operations that support and serve 29 different departments, 295 employees, and 350 staff and volunteer end users, 8,150 users in the field.
• Direct all aspects of IT Department comprised of nine sub-departments with a total of thirty staff members.
• Orchestration of all technologies, VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) phone system, local networks, Frame Relay and MPLS Wide Area Network, Microsoft (MS) Windows 2000, 2003, servers, MS application and virtual servers; network administration, help desk functions, migration to Microsoft (MS) Exchange mail, MS SQL server database, and MS SharePoint document management and collaboration servers.
• Oversee Internet/Web development and maintenance, implemented Content Management System.
• Direct all software development ($1 million dollar budget).
• Plan and manage $4.2 million overall IT budget.
• Devise organizational technical strategies to support current and future needs of rapidly growing organization.
• Research technology products; negotiate with vendors; purchase products and services.
• Oversee management of membership office, records office for automated scanning and storage of data; and formal archival department.
Key Accomplishments
• Guided organization through growth from 1 primary server and 8 IT staff to 60 servers spanning 9 major sites coast to coast and 30 staff.
• Established formalized separate Help Desk, Network, Internet, Report Writing, and Applications Development sub-departments.
• 1999-Investigated VoIP technology and implemented system as an early adopter; leading to savings of $1+ million in less than four years; selected IP IBX vendor that is now industry recognized Leader.
• Orchestrated the development of innovative software package to decentralize the management of membership data for 1,189 local communities nationwide.
• Implemented customized accounting package which enabled processing of cash receipts then insert them into MAS500 accounting software.

CENTER FOR NEW HORIZON, Chicago, IL 1996 – 1998
